When I'm bored.
My parents get annoyed basically when I'm using the computer when I'm supposed to be doing homework and when I'm using the computer for too long, which is what I usually do. I'm not allowed any game consoles mainly because they think it will distract me from school, much to my disappointment. When I'm playing games on the computer they get disappointed and sometimes they only let me play on weekends or just in the summer. At one point I could only use the computer on every other day of the week other than for doing homework. A long time ago I could only use the computer for an hour and I had to get permission. It doesn't concern me too much, but sometimes I get annoyed with the lack of privileges and feel like it's unfair and that they're pushing it too far. When it comes to cellphones, they have no concern because I don't have one or need one and for iPods, they have no problem whatsoever. In general, if I finish my homework, I'm fine.
Yesterday I went with my mom to her office at Bantrel, which is located across from Air Canada. They had this organized thing for the gr 9's there so we all went there and there were 21 in total. We watched presentation and videos and did projects in groups where we made a bunch of things like paper airplanes, bridges and cars. They explained to us the things they did there and the projects they work on. I don't really see myself doing this job in the future because I'm not into engineering (my mom is in the control system) and designing complicated structures on the computer and it focuses heavily on math and science. I would have liked going somewhere that appealed to me more and is something that I'd might want to do. I like jobs that revolve around a combination of computers and art, such as a graphic designer, video game designer or animator. After watching their numerous presentations I learned about the different fields and what they do. In the workplace people sit in a bunch of offices with double screen computers, working on oil projects with clients such as Petro Canada, Shell, etc. Math and Science are important skills required in the workplace.
My easy peasy tutorial on how to make checkerboards :O
Open a new 10 x 10 pixels that's transparent.
Zoom in several times. Take the Pencil Tool (switch with the Brush Tool) and make something like thisssss:
Go to Edit>Define Pattern and click OK. The pattern is now saved.
Let's test it now. Click on the Paint Bucket Tool and at the top if it says "Foreground" change it to "Pattern". Click on the arrow to open up your patterns and find the one you just made.
To test open a bigger blank document this time. Click and apply with the Paint Bucket.
Da resuuuult:

My favourite picture that I did for my Photoshop project was:
I think people can be more easily fooled with alien hoaxes thanks to the technology we have today. You can do simple tricks like taking fake photos of UFOs when it's probably just a coin placed on a window. You can send a helium filled balloon into the air and design it to look like a flying saucer. You can film a fake news report about it and upload it onto the Internet. Pictures and videos can be digitally altered to try and convince people. It is even more convincing if it comes from a reliable and trustworthy media source, such as the radio, TV or the newspaper. Back then people were fooled by merely a radio program, so just imagine what we could do now with the technology we have.
Yeah I use e-mail, chat and processing. I've experimented with Photoshop CS2, Flash 8, Dreamweaver 8, and most of Microsoft Office. I've worked with Photoshop the most. I also tried movie making with Sony Vegas, although I'm not very good. I tried building websites before (both using site builders and plain HTML and CSS), and I never tried building an actual computer before. I'm eager to learn as much as I can about computers so I explore around with whatever I can get my hands on.
